"whiff of the mythic"? "monolithic singularity"? Are you a freshman essayist trying to impress a college professor?
you can put salt on eggs? This changes everything.
Are you joking? Squiggy's never been on Sunny. He has Multiple Sclerosis and had to retire from acting. You might be thinking of the Big Ragoo, who played Danny DeVito's rival on the boxing episode. Also, the pawn shop dude is almost certainly Mac's dad.
Surprised Rob Zombie/White Zombie didn't make this list. Not a huge Rob Zombie music fan but I always thought it was funny that he broke up his band for reasons that could be explained on an excel spreadsheet: his solo album sold three times what any White Zombie album ever sold. AND it still had the word "zombie" in…
PFT's story about Matt Damon's alien diet food (which segues into a story about a Tom Arnold encounter at a night club) is also pretty good, but it's understandable that you didn't want to make the list all about Tompkins meeting famous people.`
I saw Dog Day Afternoon for the first time in a revival screening last month and I thought how nice it would have been for Cazale to play Steve Buscemi's dad in every single movie and TV show that Steve Buscemi ever had a Dad in. Also, that Larry Hankin would never get any work ever if Cazale lived.
You didn't notice the girl lip reading the teleprompter? That was the best part.
I had a similar experience at a Mangum show to this Evan person. I ended up walking out because I was bored. It had nothing to do with the cultish adoration of the crowd and everything to do with the dude's music. If you don't emotionally connect with his music, you're not going to be able to like it.
That is not true…
