I marathon LoTR ritually on December 27th each year. These past two years, it's felt a bit like a chore. When I sit down, it feels like I watched them just recently. I'll still keep doing it, though.

I marathoned the first season of 24 in one sitting, so it would feel like events were unfolding in real time. A TV hour is only 42 minutes long. It took something like 18 hours, not 24, but it was worth it.
