My interpretation of all of Dowd's praise above is that he's giving this film a B-.

There's only two movies in the history of film that have built up the reveal of one character to this level of greatness.

All I really remember about species was titties.

You know J.P., I almost want to scold you for your obvious hate watching of this shit, but then I remember another season of Leftovers is coming up and I will assuredly be commenting on it.

Going forward in this season, I want less of the first half of this episode, and more of the second.

Honestly, I actually kind of liked that line. Same with some of the shit Frank said.
