There is some for gymnastics, but not for other events I've watched online. But it's less intrusive, and while there's commentary on the current competing athletes and the general scope of the event, there are no cutscenes or Bob Costas. It feels like watching sports.

I watched the live feed of the gymnastics, which is a remarkably different experience, all the way through. It's two hours long, so it feels like a full-length sports event, rather than a series of highlights and clips. You get a sense of the flow of the competition. I honestly had no idea how those things worked, who

My issue is always that if corporations weren't entitled to free speech, then essentially, all that content we like would be unprotected and freely regulable. If Congress thinks HBO has too much nudity, it could ban all nudity on cable, and if HBO doesn't have some free speech right, there's no defense.  Etc.

Modern Family appears to be the show that's popular enough that the emmys feel compelled to honor it while being at least good enough that they can cut out the truly terrible shows out there.

It's a close call. Boo, like What's Her Face, rebels the most successfully against Cheerleader. WHF is the alternative one, not the anonymous one. That's So-and-so, the overachiever who will always follow authority figures. Probably Melanie. Leaving Ginny as the Ugly One, at least, based on her weirdness (2nd grade

Yup. There's just enough real emotional depth to him that his death really counts. It's not because he's some great martyr; he dies for his sins. I think it's the moment with Death - his one true friend - that just paces it out long enough.

Between Sandman, American Gods, and Avengers, I'm starting to think of Loki as the multiverse's Big Bad.

Unlike back in the old days, when we just called sequels things like Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Back then, you knew which number in the series something was, even if it didn't make sense.

Sherri Shepard is plenty funny on 30 Rock. That's the only time I've seen her do anything, so I've got nothing to complain about.
