I find the protracted destruction of Cricket all the more enjoyable for how little he deserves it. The undercurrent of sympathy, and the dim memory of him as a hapless and well intentioned man of the cloth, really underlines the gang's selfishness / lack of moral compass, which I can't help finding super-duper funny.

Shawshank is a bit of a no-brainer, I'd have thought. Even if you're a bit snooty about it, the breadth and endurance of the film's appeal surely counts for something. However! Last of the Mohicans is proper boring.
