True, not to mention she looked like she was trying to start a fist fight, and he's not going to hit a woman (on purpose!) :-o

I would argue in this episode he wasn't passive per se, it's more like he is sensitive to the situation. He was in a hospital, he just had sex with someone he thought looked like a goddess, and he helped her in one of her most important and stressful moments of her life. Which in Louie's world is quite the victory! I

I think it was also because he takes pride in his cooking (he had that shit down…..using organic Palm oil….wtf!) and was put off that someone would be just as satisfied with kfc.

This was the most spiteful review I've ever read on here….how do we vote him out?

I don't think there was a single thing about how it was weird for gay ppl having kids. More like how much of an asshole someone can be regardless of their sexual orientation. Regardless their performances were stellar, especially Judy Gold's partner. A very nuanced, sad, and believable performance. What exactly was

Seriously fuck this reviewer, get another show. That performance by the surrogate was gripping. Louie really brings the best out of his cast. Every one on here was believable and heightened. The opening bit was better than anything I remember from his last special. And the banjo music was badass.

Great article and reminder of an incredible film. I used to love to dissect scenes in this way during my film studies days. There is something supremely satisfying about taking such time to slow down moving pictures and really dig into the meanings of a scene.
Im going to have to read more of these.

A weird post passively passive post to say the least. The creator of the show is not calling for a renewal, but says he won't get in the way if it happens? No real wind in that sail. And why should there be? What's left to be done with Community other than rehashing? Isn't that what S5 was? And it was well done, but

Hmmm, I'm agreeing with the point skillzonly is making. If this show starts to coast on ensemble character dynamics, like Parks and Rec or the office it will be a shame. I don't think Veep is coming close to doing that, but I see the seeds in place. Difference being that the show is on HBO and originality is a

Yes, actually. It doesn't mention it in the article, but that's the only way he's really going to leave….take one for the team.

A-
Can't stand that they base things on a curve. There is nothing like it on tv. All the elements that ppl are complaining about, the arbitrary love interests, unresolved plots, and generally trying to cram too many events and elements into a show are too me what makes this an accurate parody of hackneyed procedurals.

Totally! I was going to ask what people are making of the twins motif, but really only the "experts" may be in position to comment on it. I'm trying to figure out if it has something to do with the way Hurwitz is trying to distance himself from the Seasons 1-3 and even though the series can feel "identical" really

Just rewatched the first episode after finishing the season a couple days ago and have to agree…it was 100% better upon rewatch. Not sure if I really laughed at all the first time, but this time the first half had me in stitches…the second half still dragged on a bit and I have to agree that some editing wouldn't have

That scene just MADE his character!

…End of an Ear-a

As good as TTOI is, compared with the depth of emotions that Veep is building, TTOI is looking decidedly one-noted. Veep has better writing, more nuanced characters that are way more human and relatable (that aren't just mimicking and reacting to Malcolm's caustic and acerbic edge), and IMPECCABLE delivery/timing.

EGGS-SHAKALAKA!!!

"parting the cheeks"

Not A-, not B+. Solid A. Best  work of Iannucci yet.

Yeah she was the only one that did her job this episode. All that work and it didn't even matter, in the end.
