If there was ever such a thing as a "bad actor"-proof movie, this is it.

Chico Marx—in his first dramatic, all-staring role!

I'd say start with Rome Open City. And if that's too cheerful for you, move directly to Germany Year Zero.

"I know there are normal people…but…I don't know what they DO!"

A Pontius Pilate spin-off?
"Better Call Pontius!"

Scorsese pays a lot of attention to all 3 movies in his "My Voyage to Italy."

Ozymandias: the best damn hour of television I'll never want to watch again.*
Unlike many, many other hours of this program, which I've already watched multiple times with great pleasure.

In my mind, Jesse seeks out his old rehab counsellor who quickly becomes his mentor and Jesse follows in his footsteps, coming to terms with many of his demons in the process.

My goodness yes, Christmas Evensong. And it's relatively early in the novel.

I hope there's a spin-off where I can watch people watching this tv show.

I think the Olympics should be gay.

The deal with "Babe" is the same deal with the best movies that rely on the not-best special effects. You don't have to believe the FX—but you have to believe the main character believes the FX (and that takes some significant acting ability). See Roy Scheider in Jaws, Ellen Burstyn in The Exorcist, etc…

The Future is pretty fucking prescient. "Give me Christ or give me Hiroshima" is arguably the moral of "Gravity's Rainbow." "There is a crack in everything/that's how the light gets in" pretty well sums up post-modernism.

Oh fuck, I'm way down here already?

Would you believe "Just Wanna See His Face" is my favorite song on Exile? Even I don't know why. But it's twue.

You forgot Robert Graves.

Maybe his wee Mary hurt.

It's
the feel-good interview of the year.

It's a long take. So sayeth the special features on the region 2 version.
