I find with 12 Reasons To Die that it's not really Ghost's performance that is great, but just the whole cohesiveness of sound and concept of the album. Ghost sounds less amped than he did on something like the merely pretty good Big Doe Rehab, but the songs are just so perfectly arranged. Their a perfect match for

1. Deafheaven - Sunbather
2. Kurt Vile - Wakin' On A Pretty Daze
3. Kvelertak - Meir
4. Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt
5. Mikal Cronin - MCII
6. Paramore - Paramore
7. Inter Arma - Sky Burial
8. Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires Of The City
9. My Bloody Valentine - mbv
10. Free Energy - Love Sign

Listen, I love that Deafheaven record as much as anyone, but can stop talking as some sort of revolutionary troll job on black metal purists (and please please please give it up with talking about the pink cover. Yes, it's not a traditional metal cover, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done before). I really do

Just started following Weingarten on Twitter and he's pretty insufferable.

She's just the best.

Huh? Also, good one with the "said nobody" joke. It's fresh one liners like that that keep me coming back to the AVClub.

Ah Steely Dan, the ultimate "I used to categorically hate this shit, but now I love them" band.

100% what Donkey Lips said, even the part about The Plan.

It worked on me. Checked out the show because of the AVClub recommendation and love it.

Yeah, from about the middle of season three to the beginning of season four the show goes on an insanely good run.

Yeah, why can't you have an open mind like all those people who have Kanye West and Daft Punk and The National on their lists? Now THAT'S good taste.

This Is Spinal Tap.

Yes, a terribly underrated comedy. Maybe Grodin's best performance outside this one.

The answer is Rick Moranis

No, I was thinking more along the lines of their pan of Macgruber.

That is a terribly uncomfortable watch, but Gervais really doesn't come off well at all there. Did anyone ever see Talking Funny (I think) with Gervais, Seinfeld, Rock and CK? I thought that was another one where Gervais was kind of the odd man out, but desperately trying to fit in.

I was always amazed by how infrequently they broached the subject of Hank's attraction to Darlene. Outside of the first episode and the one during Hank's divorce, they really didn't go into it.
