Well, I understand people's love of backlashes - but if you were watching SNL from 95 to 02, then no, I don't know how you could view Ferrell that way. Who were your guys during that period?

For a first year castmember, she couldn't be further from "underused."
Linda Richman was fine, but then it got crazy. He literally would repeat the character in consecutive weeks. Myers' latter day sins are more minor than that of the "Bad Boys," but I still think he was part of the problem by the end. A lot of his characters just became different UK accents.
In terms of who's funniest - I would consider putting Forte way higher (him and Norm are, to me, the funniest guys to do the show). Myers and Wiig were great (obviously), but some of their latter-day sins (Linda Richman, Secret Word) kind of hurt them when looking at their entire tenure as castmembers.
He's so close - him, Sudeikis, Parnell, Dratch and even Dennis Miller just missed. I guess I just had to make room for Fallon.
That's some contrarian horseshit right there.
My take is that Ferrell was a glue type castmember like Hartman and the dominant star like Murphy all at the same time. Also, he was very very funny. Murray was great, but in 3.5 seasons, it took him a full year to get his bearings (his best personal season - 79-80 - was a poor one for the show), and Belushi's last…
Whoa whoa, I loved Parnell. He was one of my favorites. But Sudeikis is like a Parnell with more midwest charm and less innate weirdness. I'm am totally pro-Parnell.

People hate on Ferrell now for whatever reason, but he was dominant when he was on the show.
That would be way up on my list too. Also, Z Shirt!
ACTUALLY (puts on pedantic SNL fan glasses), the Tracy Morgan sketch is from the second time Brooks hosted, which featured sketches like the one where Brooks sells his soul to the devil to write a song and where James Bond learns about all his STDs.
He's STARRING in the next Alexander Payne movie. I've got hopes for Forte yet. Hader was probably a better all-rounder, but Forte was the funniest.
I'm just going to say it - the funeral sketch was my favorite of the night. Sims is wrong wrong wrong (because Sims) on that one.
Sad Kanye is an interesting enough performer, but the dude has no flow. It's as bad now as it's ever been.
But he's also correct.
He's nothing AT ALL like Hammond, who could literally only do impressions. He is more like Hartman. Not as good, obviously. He's like a cooler Chris Parnell.
That Bob Seger joke - even Norm couldn't hold it together.
Norm Macdonald Live…get on it. Him struggling through the BBQ commercial may have been the funniest part of this week's episode.
Did anyone see the sketch where he played John Tesh's brother? It was a great performance. Tiny hammers.
