I think in this case, the casting of asians as other asians is fine because these are actual characters as opposed to your typical cannon fodder. Also they're doing something like countless other shows in conflating asian culture.

I don't know if you're making a reference to the memoir but that would get pretty dark at times. I would be for it, though. Gangsta Randall Park would be a sight to behold.
