not a suffering hero, thank god
I basically agree with the comments who have so cleverly pointed out all the parallels between Conan Doyle's Holmes and RDJ's incarnation. Sure, RDJ doesn't look the part, but the true Holmes essence oozes from his pores like the sweat and grime of of the industrial Victorian streets.

Did Dexter kill-off Harry?
Not literally, but in a kind of symbolic death-of-the-father kind of way? Clearly killing Trinity was a kind of death of God/killing the father moment - rejecting his example and his power. But the scene in the jail cell when he is getting really pissed at his Harry vision and ends up saying

Not that 30 Rock should be watched for character development, but these are still some of the best characters out there. Sure, it's hard to reinvigorate a Christmas special, but we watched the cruel, petty, silly shells of humans that make up the show crawl through the schmaltz of holiday cheer to give each other same

I miss evil Terri
I 'm not a fan of faked pregnancy plots anymore than the next guy. But I loved evil Terri and I think the show sold out by making her the shadow of a three-dimensional character. Maybe now that she doesn't have to plot to steal a baby on the sly she can return to haunt the too-convenient love of Emma

Agreed. Best Rachel moment so far. I was pretty psyched when Mercedes stood up to her in rehearsal and finally wrested the spotlight away. But I was with Kurt: if someone is going to belt it on the fly, give the mic to the girl whose been singing into her hairbrush since she was four.

Trinity/Christ(ine)
We've had the whole weird theological plot with Trinity as a kind of Father God, echoing Dexter's own fucked up father issues. And then we get Christ(ine) - a child who kills herself, protecting her father, even when her father has betrayed and abanonded her (my god, my god, why have you forsaken

Rita's agency
While I enjoyed the storyline with Dexter hitting Elliot - just to see him act out some of his own feelings and be surprised by them (I actually think he did want to hit him and didn't just do it because he thought he was supposed to) - I didn't like how easily Rita got off the hook. It's not that I

jack and liz's office romance continues
Jack's utterly helpless bewildered behavior around performer Liz and his conflict between changing her and saving face with Banks were perfect. The whole Jack/Liz love affair gets better every week.

Pete as a naked old man was so perfect. Weird and random, but perfect.

Michael's big heart
I think the reason I still love Michael even when he does these stupid things is because he really does want to help - he really thought that he was going to be rich and in a world where he was rich, he thinks he'd give the money away. That kind of optimism - granted, blind, foolish, misplaced

I agree - this season has been one that starts to come close to season 1 (not season 2) of the british office and many episodes of curb your enthusiasm in sheer - need to watch it from the other side of the room - awkwardness. But while the awkwardness is amped up, so are Michael's redemptive moments…while Dwight

kitchen scene was awkward!
I get that Terri is awful and does some awful things, but too many people seem to assume she's not genuine when she says she's afraid of losing Will? I believed her - and the fact that he was so clueless about her condition when he's so insightful about everything else only affirms how

harry dies with Arthur?
While the Harry device is clearly as much about plot explication as anything else, I definitely think he is meant to be part of Dexter's subconscious and increasingly his "dark passenger." Notice how much Dexter's killer impulses are directed away from the compulsion to stab something and more

Could Trinity have serial families?
Sure, I agree: totally out of the blue and off the wall that Christine is Arthur's daughter. But if that is the way they are going to play it, I want to know where she comes from. Any chance Trinity has multiple families? Does he kill them off eventually, but let this daughter live

Am I the only one watching who kind of likes the Angel/Maria love story? Sure it is cheesy and a bit over-the-top, but after Maria's shitty luck in love lately, I'm enjoying watching her blossom out of her hard-ass personality a bit. Though I have to say, confessing your love over the threat of death doesn't bode well

totally right, Rowsdower - all good adultry begins with the false moral certainty that you have rejected the neighbors outright advances, making you that much more likely to accept them when he keeps it up and your husband is still absent. Just ask Anna Karenina.

I heart Creed!
Every week we get a new perspective on the ever creepy, brilliant Creed! I love the idea of him struggling with loving 'her' vs. loving the 'idea of her' - I just hope we get to see this mysterious her!

Is Glee a ballad itself?
A little over the top, trying to pack too much emotion into too little time, occasionally cloying, yet somehow emotionally appealing?

Rita's coming to life!
I disagree - I think it's perfect that Rita is only getting tempted to cheat now…that way, she isn't just cheating out of a reaction to frustration, but rather, she'd cheat because of her own desires and agency. It's the way in which Rita's identity is all wrapped up in Dexter that's been

Do you row or play?
I love how Jim is showing us that Michael's boss-skills are much more creative and genius than we all thought! Oh, and please yes, can we get an Office version of Clue!
