"I CAN'T BREATHE." "I'M A SENATOR." The screen ignites with their passion!

Yep, I know the spoiler you mean. I learned about it, too. I think you should still see it, though. The only positive thing about a spoiler (and I'm reaching, I know) is that at least you can concentrate then on the machinations, how the movie gets to that point and notice some little things rather than worrying about…
This is a good point, too. A misunderstood hero would definitely be a good twist.
That's a good point. And I agree that it could very well be true. And that could be very interesting! But I think the point, too, is that Luke is now really able to recognize what the dark side is, what it feels like. It feels good and he lets it out, sure, but at the key moment, he pulls back. That's the key to his…
I agree. He's got a good track record…hope he can really do some good character work. And now that the first bit of it is settled, they can really give if it a whirl!
Ugh, Vacation was such a cynical cash-grab—awful in nearly every way.
No one can Bossk JJ around!
Yes sir, I agree totally. Get the footing back. Show us what made us like the movies in the first place. Fast, breezy, thrilling … and FUN, for fuck's sake. It doesn't need to be dark, gritty or take too many chances to be good. Not that we want to settle…but good lord, let's at least get the aura back before we go…
I agree. Luke CAN'T be the villain, can he? He stood up against the Emperor. He is incorruptible, right? I mean, anything can work if it's explained well and makes sense and all of that. But Luke can't go dark. It ruins everything that made him turning Vader work.
"TAX"
I see a variation of this comment in every Star Wars thread, AND I LOVE IT EVERY TIME! Seriously, that's not sarcasm. It makes me laugh out loud. I can picture Berman and his fat head saying it and it works for nearly every situation. Anyway, my appreciation and carry on!
It's going to be great, it's going to be great, going to be great, great, going to be great.
I love hearing about people's reactions to seeing the films in the theater or for the first time, thanks so much for this. I was a little too young to see and remember Star Wars in 77, but I saw Empire 7 times in the theater in 1980. Yoda just floored me. The Cloud City saber fight blew my young mind, with Vader…
I remember hearing that, too, Cookie, about the Star Destroyer. That was truly a magic moment in the cinema for young me.
Indeed. "Instant Karma" is urgent and primal and fucking rocks thanks to a great drum track and production.
I feel ya, man. Shoe store used to start that shit on November 1! Two grueling months of this song. And the one I remember more than any other, the one I HATE more than any other, is that one by Andy Williams: "Happy Holiday." "It's the holiday season/so BOOP DE DOO and DICKORY DOCK/ and don't forget TO HANG UP YOUR…
I felt the same! I really didn't enjoy it, was kind of bored…but it was still pretty interesting and low-key funny. I'm really not sure what that means!
MONSTER fucking drum track.
Ooooh…fucking Afterimage. Forgot that one. Bloody brilliant.
Subdivisions for me, too. I think it's his finest drum track as well as some of his best lyrics.
