Wish I could upvote you twice. "Blouse-wearing hobbit fuckers" and Brian Wilson's "Smile." Did the child-like whimsy of smile work with the LSD?

"Tomorrow Never Knows" is still the go-to song for how certain drug experiences SOUND.

Dude, that's awesome. Used to love watching Fisher play. On a similar note, do a little weed and then watch YouTube videos of Ronnie O'Sullivan shooting his perfect snooker games. Insanity and beauty.

Yes! Indescribable. I once got pretty fucked up and listed to Abbey Road — that album's EQ is insane, like a sweet tooth, and the bass line for "Something" would get up in my jaw and live there.

Indeed. Nothing like the creeping terror as "Cry Baby Cry" segues into Paul's little snippet of "Can you take me back?" I'm scared just typing it. Doesn't sound like a fun time, necessarily, especially when you are paranoid. But by the time the Xanax does its thing at the end of "Good Night," I'm feeling pretty OK

Just saying…comment of the year right here. Well done. Could be that I fucking loved that movie, holy shit. Haven't cheered at the end of a movie since I was a wee lad watching Return of the Jedi. Again, sorry—well done. I snort-laughed at work.

Just watched the first two last night—and I think it's a fantastic show, high energy, whip-smart, and Kemper and Burgess are fucking fantastic. I think a little Krakowski goes a long way, but so far she's appropriately loony.

I agree. It's a subject that inspires instant melancholy for me. It's tied up in memory and loss, joy and sadness. Seeing Kermit now, knowing how they were such a part of my childhood, kind of tears me up a little bit.

This is true—we were lucky to get what we've got, and I forget that sometimes. You can't keep it up forever, and his 70s roll cannot be surpassed.

Ah, you might be right on that one. That was his first Scorsese and he seemed a bit overwhelmed. Maybe that works for his character, but he does seem tepid, and I don't think I bought him as the kind of warrior who could raise an army against Bill the Butcher.

This is true. Ford has a certain old-school Hollywood charm as Indy (and Han Solo) that just works in those "old-fashioned" type pictures. And why a new Indy? Is there anyone in Hollywood who is as identified in a role as Ford/Indy? Why take a risk for a remake/reboot that isn't necessary and will only call attention

Moore was awesome in that flick. "Ahhh, you're a HEDGE."

That's a great flick. The whole film is a series of crazy set pieces where he ends up losing his shit. Aside from the disco theme song (or maybe because of it), it's really a great film and performance—and one of his last before his "comeback" in that thriller pic he did in the 80s.

True. But I love her and Clooney in that last scene of "Clayton." Her bubbling panic and facial expressions are an acting clinic.

I think that's an interesting point, although I do like Leo when he works with Marty. I think he was miscast as Hughes in "The Aviator," but that doesn't stop him from being absolutely thrilling and riveting in the role. He doesn't look or sound anything like Hughes—but, I don't know, he really turns it into something

I'm kind of with you on that, too. Her perennial trotting out of sub-par, mannered horseshit in shitty films speaks to how the Academy just doesn't realize how many wonderful actresses out there should be honored in her place.

It's definitely up there. Maybe along with DDL in "Blood"?

Ugh, one of the most egregious Oscar wins of all time. Her Flick is great. Her Cash is Reese Witherspoon playing dress-up.

Yes! So many great "comedic" performances that get overlooked because they are in a comedy. Goddamn if Hanks wasn't one of the finest comedic actors of that time—always elevating material. Hell, "The Money Pit" is pretty awful, but Hanks is AMAZING in it. Not Oscar worthy, I suppose. I think the Academy needs a

Right on about Fonda: Should have won the award just for killing the little kid in "West."
