I actually enjoyed The Reader. I thought Winslet gave a stellar performance and the kid who played her lover was quite convincing.  It wasn't the best film of the year but I would put it in my top 10.

I liked the first two seasons but just couldn't keep with it in season 3.  Good lord that was some terrible tv.

Let's be honest, JMP, the show sucked balls a long time before then.  I actually only really liked the first season and a half.

Yeah.  It seems like the showrunners just really hate Hall and Carpenter and are pulling this now as some kind of awesome revenge.  They hate each other almost as much as Debra Winger hated Richard Gere during An Officer and A Gentleman from what I've read.

Yep, I was going to say that, too.  If not for Andy's (completely effective) redemption speech at the end, this would have been the feel bad xmas special of all xmas specials.  I can't keep from crying along with Maggie while watching it.
