Sounds like you're talking about the Tea Party, and the Tea Party was put in place in order to ensure a liberal government is always in control. I'm convinced that the Democrats are in charge of getting the most insane conservatives into the public eye, and they're geniuses for it.

If the movie is racist, etc. call it out and vilify it, by all means. I was arguing that the reviewer hated the movie because the ancient Athenians were that way, not the characters in the movie.

Leonides was a Spartan and hated Athenians for being gay? And the heroes of this film are Athenians so they're gay? That doesn't sound homophobic to me!

What is historical about this movie? There's a 10-foot tall warlord, ork-like things, giants, etc. They use these ancient battles as a basis for fantasy. It's like getting pissed at "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" for absolving white America from any culpability for slavery, since the movie/book blames vampires.

They're portrayed as homophobic in this movie? With those fabulous outfits? The review says the bad parts of the Athenians were glossed over and ignored in the film, which is why he points out how horrible the actual Athenians were.

Pretend it's one of those non-barbaric ancient civilizations fighting the good fight. Replace Athenians with "AV Club accepted group of people". It's really not hard to do, especially in movies as pointless as this.

    But enough about CSPAN!

Enough with the fat shaming, you monsters!

"Well, that guy made a pretty shitty literary-type movie, so one would assume that he can make a pretty kick-ass action flick."
-movie producer, 12 months before being fired

    Almost exactly the same!

This movie most assuredly sucks, but to say it sucks because the Athenians weren't really like that is just ridiculous. It's a movie, brah. This isn't actually a history lesson on ancient Greece, it's a movie where "good" guys fight "bad" guys and there's, like, a ton of violence and stuff.

Maybe they didn't think anybody would take the time to translate it. I think their defense was "How do they know we copied it since nobody over there speaks German?"

The miserable assholes are definitely the worst, but it takes a special bit of lunacy to take $100 million and flush it down the toilet. I guess I meant directors and producers.

Have you ever been on a movie set or spoken to an actor? The vast majority of them think what they're doing is the greatest thing in the world, especially if somebody has put up $100 million to fund it. So many are delusional.

Your movies make nothing, Jon Snow.

No love for fat Chris Bale?

I loved the year that they superimposed the screenplay direction with the actual performance, that showed us just how much great actors can bring to a role.

Worst episode ever, I give it a B++++++.

Does it matter AT ALL who the killer is? The killer and the murders were all MacGuffins to just get us inside Marty and Rust's world and in their heads. the killer can be lawnmower guy, Sen. Tuttle, Police Chief Wiggum it will make no difference. I think that the killer being Marty or Rust would be a ridiculous
