I still think there were a ton of great character moments. Rust admitting that HE even thought he lost his mind when was breaking into Tuttle's homes, Marty's fall from master of his domain to lonely, overweight nobody…which finally gives him the balls to go for broke and go after everybody in order to do the right

Great episode. It's tough for me to see where the reviewer is coming from with his C grade and boredom with it. I found the Marty storyline fascinating and completely necessary to show us why the Marty of present day is so willing to say fuck it and try to do the right thing, when the Marty of 2002 wanted absolutely

    FREEEEEEEEEDOMMMMMMMMM

he fought them in Cowboys & Aliens, but I agree that it's pretty insane to point THAT out about Ford's career.

I think Brokeback Mountain is remembered so fondly because Heath Ledger gave us probably the best performance of the decade and the 2005 best picture nominees were really weak, with a historically bad winner.

    Dances with Wolves.

That's why it's not fun. It's intentionally cheesy, which is not endearing at all. They're clearly trying to make a crappy rip-off so they made it in a ridiculous place. Much funnier would be if they really tried to earnestly re-make it, and it ended up looking ridiculous.

    Not the purple stuff.

Right, I'm not arguing that HBO doesn't have white people shows. I'm saying that of the select few that get HBO budget/exposure it's a diverse group.

Wow. she got paid to write that.

if he creates a second season with women in the main roles to specifically placate critics (as opposed to just telling the story he wants to tell) then I would be very disappointed and worried about the direction he's taking the show.

It's a strawman argument. i haven't seen or heard anybody say she was a shrew. I think she's awesome. I think she's been written and performed perfectly, as the long-suffering cop's wife. The scene where she confronts Marty and the scene where she tells the detectives to cut the bullshit and tell her why she's

She's a window into who Marty is. He treats his family with utter disdain, even though he doesn't see it that way. You're an episode behind so I won't speak about it, but the women in Marty's life have 2 huge scenes showing what a complete and utter shitstain Marty is.

Ha! Oh yeah sure, the black characters are underdeveloped as well. But only TWO characters are developed! It's their story and we spend 99% of our time with them. Of course EVERYBODY else is underdeveloped. HAS THE WHOLE WORLD GONE CRAZY?

Yep, because HBO doesn't have pretty much the entire spectrum of diverse groups represented on Sunday nights throughout the year. Girls, Treme, Looking, True Detective, etc.

Exactly. Why paint yourself into a corner?

HAHAHA! People are pissed about how the women are characterized on True Detective? Is this a thing now, get angry at a popular show that doesn't have every gender/ethnic/etc group equally represented? Have you seen how they characterize the men? Rust is a know-it-all asshole completely incapable of making any

    Meth

Vermont and New Hampshire are the same.

I can't go anywhere in Iowa without hearing B.o.B.
