Twin Peaks (as well as other David Lynch works) has always been at least partially about male violence against women. Fire Walk with Me is very explicit about this, but there's plenty of it in the original series (Leo Johnson, ffs).

An entire book could be written about how much of a breath of fresh air this season of 24 was. That did not feel like a show that's been on the air for 9 seasons. It didn't feel like it was going through the motions. It didn't feel lazy. It was just so refreshing.

Oberyn popping up every episode to call Tyrion a dum-dum would just be the best thing ever.
