I think Peter Sellers was better in "Never Let Go" than in "Being There". It also was the template for both the movie "Drive" and Albert Brooks' performance in it.

Not at all. You're not reading the quote correctly. The reviewer wrote that punk music helped Morris find himself in a world that otherwise rejected him. Meaning, he was rejected by the world and then took to punk music to find himself.
