The entire vocal on that song is pretty impressive - not just the sinister laughs, but the way he is able to increase the level of intensity until he is practically screaming in key.

Cowtools list is not too bad, but I would add an Abacab era Genesis tune that did not make the album, but ended up on the 4th side of the American release of 3 Sides Live - "You Might Recall" which is my favorite of that period. https://youtu.be/YsV-1FDLTW0
I enjoyed this and thought they made a lot of smart choices - particularly at the end the way they wrapped with proper bows for the cast and ensemble, but I certainly agree about the live audience. They were used more like unpaid extras, and were clearly directed carefully. So on one hand there would be applause and…
They went with "wonder wagon" Hmmm. Well, I always thought referring to a car as a "wagon" implied "station wagon" which doesn't seem that sexy, even if there is more room in the (way) back for actually having sex… that is if the rear seats recline… which is all rather difficult to fit into a song lyric.
…and wouldn't you know, they changed the lyric to "scream."
Ironically, Conway and Travolta reversed roles for the movie that they had performed on stage.
I would love to have seen their reaction to Marvin Gaye's version from the 1983 NBA all-star game: https://vimeo.com/34606761
I, for one, am sick of the Swiss.
Yeah, plus reading that slowly frustrated her best friend which led to a falling out, and the next thing she knew she was in a vicious fight with the "thousand pound gully cat" next door.
#24. Part one.
Yeah - I've lightened up on the reflexive "too soon!" reaction. I've noticed a lot more light displays this year prior to Thanksgiving as well - perhaps in part due to the milder late fall here in the NE. Again - the line is just what I set for me since it's the tradition I grew up with, but if other people want to…
Fair enough - I guess personally I draw the line on Christmas stuff I can't avoid prior to Thanksgiving.
High schools have in fact put on The Producers - how they get away with the Nazi imagery is a mystery to me - imagine an entire school district with administrators and parents that all get satire. https://youtu.be/o6n5ME9nVdY
I'll bet you get pissed when people call it a soundtrack when it's an original cast album! ;)
I get what you're saying, and I reflexively reacted the same way when I saw Christmas movies programmed on Halloween, but then again - no one is cramming the Hallmark Channel down my throat - it's easy to ignore and there were plenty of Halloween themed options that night.
Awesome post - I share a similar opinion of these made for TV sap-fests, but at the same time it's kind of comforting to know they are still an option. Last year I found myself tuning in to the one with Andy Garcia and Mary-Louise Parker. I remember almost nothing else about it, but I'm pretty sure I'm glad I watched…
I try to play the Little Drummer Boy Challenge every year - never get very far, but for awhile it really adds to the overall anxiety of the season! http://littledrummerboychal…
Seems a tad late in the game to go with the Lance Armstrong strategy - besides, Lance already ruined convincingly righteous indignation for those who might actually be falsely accused of something.
That would be a good list as well and perhaps helpful for aspiring musical theater actors - "songs to avoid in auditions" or something like that.
I noticed from the first listen that the inclusion (or exclusion) of the word "then" prior to "I'm willing to wait for it." In the first verse about love - "then" helps clarify that the "it" he is willing to wait for is the reason she's by his side - not her love, which he is satisfied with despite having to hide the…
