My son was in a production of "A Year With Frog and Toad" and got to sing "Alone" which I found deeply moving. The rest of the show was a lot of fun, but nothing quite on the level of that song.

My son was just in a terrific regional production as Caldwell Cladwell, and I was skeptical going in, but completely won over by this show and saw it three times. There is a lot going on in this one.

They were both deemed eligible for leading actor in a musical - I would assume they will both be nominated. I have yet to see Hamilton, but from the cast album and snippets of video, I would root for Odom Jr,.

What you're saying certainly applies to movies as well - major studio Hollywood films vs. indie.

Brand New You is a fun and catchy song, but I think within the show it just kind of feels like a tag for the bows - almost like a credits song for a movie. From 13 I would have considered A Little More Homework or perhaps even If That's What It Is.

Also love how sections of it take the piss out of some of the more dramatic orchestrations from Wicked.

That synth break that closes the song out gets my head boppin' every time.

You can find clips here and there - and the Ham4Ham mini-shows done outside the Rogers Theatre a few times a week are fun to browse through on YouTube. There will also be an open ended run in Chicago starting in Sept of next year, and a national tour is already being planned. This show is going to clean up at the

Yeah I wrote in a post below about the animation of Jim Simon which was featured on both Electric Company and Vegetable Soup. A good example I mentioned was the animated song "Hey Diddle Diddle" with the fat cat piano player - I think for a very suburban little white boy like me it was too far beyond my scope of

I'm not sure how ashamed I am of this, but Jim Simon's animation from The Electric Company and Vegetable Soup on PBS in the '70's was so strange and foreign to me when I was a kid it both scared and fascinated me. https://youtu.be/uQmqt58TkCc

Wow Anthony Rapp and Andrew Rannells appearing on the same show! Hopefully Raul Esparza is next up and this will transform into a musical… one that finally beats out Sweeney Todd for amount of blood.

Outstanding analysis of MD by Alan Shaw here - but I would strongly advise seeing the film several times first before reading - in an actual theater if possible. Our local art house theater showed it last year and it was a revelation for me seeing it on the big screen without any household distractions and exemplary

Hey that's an interesting theory. Examples? The only one I can think of is West Wing - The Lyon's Den.

True, but I give him props for being very good in Generation Kill and Inside Llewyn Davis, not to mention the Broadway musicals American Idiot and Kinky Boots.

Her interview on Nerdist last year was just super charming - and she revealed herself to be extremely smart, funny, and pop-culture savvy.

Duly noted.

…and so are they all, all honorable men.

He and Michael Rooker may be too obvious for this list.

But she says everything "with love in her heart." It's kind of her equivalent to following every statement with "…I'm just sayin."

Mess with the bull, and … well you know the rest.
