I really like American Beauty, but I keep hearing that it has fallen out of critical favor over the years, so if it doesn't appear on the list that would not surprise me. That seems to happen to when a movie is a critical darling when it comes out, and then wins the best picture Oscar.

I would have liked a little more insight into why Brittany was not
chosen as a finalist after all the accolades. It seemed like at one
point they were hinting that a few judges were concerned about her voice
holding up and being able to handle her solo song, but was that ultimately

I'm not denying the success of these kind of shows they are ideal for network broadcast television and do a great job keeping viewers once they tune in. I'm just sharing my personal preference for how I tend to consume them. I enjoy a good L&O episode, but watching one does not compel me to watch several at one
