I may disagree with his numerous papal bulls decrying the ordination of mammalian clergy but Space Pope Reptilian is dead right on this point.

@Cheese says five: the shipyard escape from 'Imprisoned'.

Hmm..You are right Murc; Ty lee should have been much more severely shaken up.  I never thought about it before you mentioned it but it is true.
I suspect, judging by the general quality level of the programme, that the writers did not forget about this aspect but just ran out of time.
It is more impotant that Azula

To borrow an American colloquialism; she's about to become CRAZY AWESOME ha ha ha ha haaa……

EDIT: moved to the right place.

I Would not be surprised if much of the technology we see in the time of Korra was developed in the Fire Nation.

That is good to know.  We can only hope she was less of a puppet ruler than the Bespectacled Earth King (I don’t remember if they ever mentioned his name).

Like Phodreaw I have only become a denizen of the internet in the last year or so my only experience of the Avatar fandom has been here among you well informed, polite, erudite and only occasionally profoundly inappropriate (I’m looking at you Firecest!*) ladies and gentlemen.
After reading the above comments it

You make some good points but I think that "phoned in" is a bit harsh.
Hayden does think about his reviews but keep in mind that the aspects of the episode that jumped out to you may not be the same ones that jumped out to him.

Amen to that Mr Stick

I would not worry too much about that.  A:TLA did not start revealing character backgrounds in detail at the very start; instead it spread them all throughout the series.  I expect Korra will do something

Ah Firecest…good old dependable Firecest.

Comment moved to a more appropriate* thread - The Ship-o-Meter thread.

"So the plan, such as it was, was to seize control of the political, military, and administrative heart of the Fire Nation, render its leaders harmless, and then dictate terms to them."

I think this is probably true.  I also think that it does not occurr to most benders to look for elements anywhere other than where they are most obvious.

I get the feeling that Sokka knows that Katara can hear his conversation with Toph.  The comments abut him forgetting what his mother looked like how he relies on Katara almost seem as if they are tangentially directed at Katara rather than Toph.  I don't thing he would have found it easy to say that directly to

Who called Sokka " Master Swish"?  Was that Toph?

Homing pigeons?  Good question.  I suspect very strong magnets are involved.
