I'd say a close second, but man, between the opening crane/tracking shot, to the fire crackers, to Reed and Scotty, this movie is amazing from start to finish. As much as I loved The Master and Inherent Vice, I'd still place this as my 2nd favorite PTA movie after There Will be Blood

i've never read the books, though my wife did and has been talking about this movie for what seems like years, but we actually both enjoyed the film which almost never happens
