In response below, I'm not sure if I read this somewhere or dreamed it, but I think  the show is going to take 2 seasons to cover ASoS, which would give them a lot more room to build things up.

Right before world/table sex, we get to see Davos' nubs.  So that might help explain that it's not the whole fingers.  But I really want to see his lucky pouch…

I believe you missed the entire point of the show.
