I can't like this enough - Sonia's assertion that maybe some people who are morbidly obese would benefit from losing weight is ridiculous.  And using the word "morbidly" is not an insult, it simply emphasizes that obesity causes morbidity, or a disease state.  It's really super unhealthy to be that much overweight.

Ha!  You are right - when I borrowed the book from my friend I also screwed up the title.  I just love Vincent Price so damn much!

oh - I didn't even think about the PBS website!  Thanks!

I saw that movie at far too young an age.

As part of my Halloween-inspired reading, I finished Frankenstein over the weekend and really enjoyed it.  It's pretty heady and lives up to the story of its creation.  Plus it had what for me is the bonus of action in the arctic that the movie lacks.

Same here - I thought Rush was a really enjoyable film.  Bruhl in particular was great.

Why is Hulu not running The Hollow Crown!  Gaaaaah!  I am so looking forward to the DVD.

@avclub-c3be6e8cf75a921162b52b8937e66da9:disqus that's why I wrote "the language of my human protectors" - I figured it was French but couldn't remember how many he learned.  He must have learned English to speak to the ship captain (and book narrator) at the end.

I am also reading it for the first time!  It's actually better than I expected (based on how dire Dracula turned out to be) but it is much better when others take over the story.

@drdarke:disqus Yes!  The Michael Sarrazin one - loved that as a kid!

Or alternatively: Please Stop Referring to Me as Frankenstein and Implying that I Lack Comprehension of the Basics of the Grammar of the Language of My Human Protectors Who Betrayed Me.

That's how I felt when I woke up this morning and opened up CNN.com hoping for info about when I might be able to go back to work to see THE VOICE OF SIRI as the headline.

A 19-year old who cares about nothing has comedy potential.  A 24-year old who cares about nothing is just kind of pathetic.

I feel sure they will come back to that.  If not, it will be a huge misstep.

Part of setting the fake vet school in Bloomington is that Ann would want to live there.  It's a cool town.  Not sure anyone would come away from a visit to West Lafayette feeling that way.

I didn't read the Enough Said review - did Dowd really say "first world problems" in it?  Because I seriously despise that phrase and people who use it.

I loved the Chris Bosh commentary especially.  I will never not see him and start thinking about him researching his upcoming opponents musical skills.

I'm late to the party as usual, but your point about the AVClub lacking an editorial voice is spot-on.  I whole-heartedly support you as the next recapper for Top Chef!  Stay on the lookout for my comments when I get to see this episode in 5 weeks or so!

or pray-leens!

I am hugely disappointed (1) that Bravo keeps a long delay on airing shows on Hulu (last season it was 5 weeks) and (2) that there was apparently not one person at the AVClub who had some history with this show to review it.  The AVClub has turned into the TVClub and so TVClub really has to be at the top of its game.
