I assume he comes in the same TV box he sleeps in.

Yep - we're from NW Ohio!
I remember my one time there: I ordered a black-and-blue salad and my sister gave me a look of disgust and asked if she was going to have to sit at another table. Because in my family, eating blue cheese merits that kind of reaction.
So as a Schrader fan, what are your thoughts about The Canyons? I like a lot of the movies you mention here and am intrigued by the story of how obsessed he became with filming this. Is there any word out there about the quality of this film and if it will be worth seeing?
Definitely Siskel and Ebert are my two primary movie mentors.
That;s a good take. There was always music playing in my house - Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como. We had to take piano lessons and play an instrument, since my parents were too poor growing up to get to do that. So even though I had to find my own path musically, I was inclined to be interested. Plus, I…
I was waiting for a mention of Roger Ebert. I used to watch him and Gene Siskel discuss movies that never came near my small town in the pre-video age. It was kind of an anthropology class since I anticipated never actually being able to see many of these films. But it still helped shape my taste and critical…
I assumed it was the second, but the first makes so much more sense.
I am enjoying the mental image of Michael Shannon dusting and running the vacuum cleaner.
Why don't you just spend that time re-inforcing the chains in your basement and not go outside?
One more sad thing for me about this is that as a denizen of the state of GA for the last 13 years, I can attest to the fact that GA has magnificently wonderful smells in spring that I never have experienced anywhere else I have lived. Magnolia, wisteria, honeysuckle, and gardenia really do perfume the air in spring.
I am doing all I can to slowly consume the episodes, drawing out the suspense, rather than devouring them all in one sitting.
We were so young then!
Now I am reading that phrase in Archer's voice, which is great as always.
@avclub-8dd007f4a97be79c135c67999bf5b27e:disqus I just turned 44 and I can attest to the decreasing amount of which I give a fuck about what people think of me as I age. This is especially true in classes of any sort - language, yoga, etc - where I am the one insisting that the teacher explain things better. I've had…
Great! He is such a standout character (among a whole slew of great characters in that show).
I love the description of his "open-mouthed" performance since when watching FandG originally he really seemed to be a bit mentally slow. And now, I find him quite attractive (especially in the Community ep he guested in).
I had a friend who was a I few years ago who was a major germophobe. The kicker for me was when I was with him and some other people and they started passing a bong around, and he took the lighter to sterilize the pipe.
It was worth it just so Dick Casablancas could make his kid cry:
Oh, god, when I was younger I house-sat a lot and I always masturbated at their homes!
