I actually skipped out on his performance (went to see Deep Dark Woods open for him, so these were actually drunk Georgia frat boys) for the very reason you mentioned.  Another friend later scolded me for this.  If this song is any indication of how good his music is, I missed out.

This sounds about right.  I saw it in a cinemateque maybe a year or so after it opened, certainly long after Roger Ebert called it the best film of the year.  It was great, but without the late Ebert plug I'm not sure I would have known of it's existence.

There's been a huge rash of movies and TV shows filmed in the Atlanta area and I enjoy watching those to pick out places I know, but I REFUSE to watch The Odd Life of Timothy Green!

I'm guessing the chances of weather.org being a porn site are pretty good….

I'm with you.  I didn't even have to pay for the rental and thought that I got ripped off.

Especially if that concept is "enantiomers", which invariably involves holding your hands up and rotating each 180 degrees in turn.  It's pretty much the same explanation sober or drunk, but when drunk there is typically a lot more incredulity at the person not getting such a clear explanation as you are giving by

This post made me experience 10,000 kinds of nostalgia!

Should not haikus by

Confidence is good, arrogance is bad.

I admit that as a kid I loved Shamrock Shakes and once when drinking a shake, I bent over to pick something up and spilled the shake all over my head :(  My mother thought her daughter covered in green milkshake in the middle of the mall was the funniest thing she had ever seen.

Now I want to see Jeff Winger doing guest spots on multiple lawyer shows a la John Munch.

You forgot to preface this post with "Dear Penthouse Forum,"

Well, you know, completely ridiculous things really make an impression.

Doesn't Vicks hate EVERYTHING?  Even Lobsters has Jerry Lewis to love, but I've never seen Vicks like anything.  She complained about the adoption plotline in 30 Rock, for Christ's sake ("rich women buying kids" or something like that).

Well, the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a harpoon is a good guy with a harpoon.

Thanks for the info - I edited.

Fair enough, knowing the story behind it now.  I'll edit my post accordingly.

I'm with @avclub-6307a12d5c9e2fb5f23518a9a0ee8dd1:disqus - Pierce really was a good looking president.  I believe John Tyler was quite hot as a young man, but didn't age all that well.

I loved this guy's music - thanks for the write-up.
