I'm with @Scrawler, that is a necessary hyphen.
I'm with @Scrawler, that is a necessary hyphen.
And yet you totally just used it!!
Holy shit, now I feel like I need to start an "It Gets Better!" campaign for grad students.
I say have dinner with both of them. I spent Saturday afternoon being kind of a bitch to a friend of mine whose husband recently asked for a divorce, pushing her hard to move past it as fast as she can and not be thinking about a reconciliation and taking care of herself. So you need to do the same for you. Get…
I fund things related to musicians I am interested in. A few years ago Shearwater had a campaign for this insanely beautiful package to go with the release of one of their albums with photos from remote place the lead singer had travelled to. I also recently got a book of album artwork done by Will Schaff.
I find another key piece is letting it rest in the pan just the right amount of time.
I do have one Le Creuset Dutch oven, but I love my Lodge skillet so much that I think any additional purchases would be from them.
@avclub-45d2c6868b544067879a7f6b7f327c86:disqus Donut-making, although I'm sure tasting will be involved :) It's just a two-hour cooking class at the local supply store, but it should be fun. I think we are doing 4 different donuts in that time. The only way I've ever made donuts from scratch is deep-frying biscuit…
I'm taking a donut class in a few weeks!
Ok, just read it and wow, that really was over the top. Very strange. If I were going to pick a fight with @Scrawler2:disqus it would be over something like how Chris Hemsworth could kick Tom Hardy's ass, or some such reasonable discussion.
Great, now I have to go read that Informant piece to see who would pick fight with Scrawler.
@K. Thrace - it really is a good story, and really his whole life was pretty inspirational. I have some New Zealand money with his picture on it, so that's something!
Me too :)
People tend to think that since it isn't technical, it must be easy. I've heard the upper section is like walking uphill in sand.
sigh - I suppose it's up to me to point out that Tenzing was MY summit partner, not Mallorys. Considering that Andrew Irvine was quite the handsome fellow, I think there is plenty of good fan/fic to go along with this film, although fewer "more-gay" comments.
Considering that many locals blamed the 1996 Everest disaster on too much hanky-panky on the mountain, we can conclude that mountaineering is in fact very, very sexy.
I was also misled by this headline and could not for the life of me figure out who Bale was going to be playing.
I live in Atlanta and regularly walk my dogs in Stone Mountain park. I get grat joy from watching all of the African-Americans and mixed-race couples there, imagining them all saying "fuck you, I'm free!" to the stone carving of Lee, Jackson, and Davis on the face of the mountain.
"Sydow’s plan is approved, but only in what the narrator describes as the Third World realm of Kenya, Brazil, and Russia…"
It really is a treat to see it on the big screen.
