Food-wise:  tonight a friend whose husband just asked for a divorce is coming to my house to stay for a while.  I"m thinking a trip to the market to stock up on some good food is in order - definitely staying away from anything "couple-y" with her!

Going back to the restaurant challenge episode, when Kristen said she wanted her restaurant to be more formal, the judges seemed to perk up a bit.  Most people where throwing around comfort food concepts and she seems to stand out with a more elegant approach.

I had a friend that also got that feedback.  I wish I would have gotten that, rather than the calvacade of "matches" who really were just men in a general age range and zip code.

I had the same experience. After my friend met a great guy on it (that she ended up marrying and really they are perfect for each other) I decided to try it and did not even end up going on a date with anyone since so few of the guys seemed to just be within my general age range as the defining characteristic. 

Michael Ruhlman deserves the fame that so many other, lesser cook/authors have.

I made duck with braised carrots over the weekend, but I'm consistentl lazy during the week and end up just getting take out.  I did make a beer bread last night that was pretty good, though.
