@avclub-c252b9390befbfe200d59090a071c413:disqus I thought No Line was a slight improvement on Dismantle, but only very incrementally. If U2 keep it up, at this rate in 15 years time they might produce another album as good as ATYCLB.
ATYCLB is the 'Who Are You' of U2 albums
ATYCLB isn't terrible, but it's the herald of the band's millenial blandness. It's markedly better than Dismantle and Line on the Horizon, though.
I'm pretty amused that he was so fucked up on heroin during Let Love In that he literally doesn't remember who played on it.
To me it feels like Season 7 is a frustratingly average season. There have been no real stinkers (like the pirate one) but also no standouts. This is probably one of the best episodes of the season, but it still frustratingly evades the heights of something like Amy's Choice or The Doctor's Wife.
You've correctly identified a lot of gaps in the whole Silence-River story, but I think the real answer is just crappy writing.
Apropos of not much I was taking photos in an Orthodox cemetary in a post-Soviet state (not Russia itself) a couple of months ago when a guy showed up and started screaming at me in Russian (which I don't speak). He was quite drunk and basically the only word I could make out was 'babushka'. I concluded I probably…

It's been mentioned by both Smith and the writers that the Second Doctor is the Eleventh Doctor's 'ancestor' in the same way the Fifth Doctor was the Tenth's.
@avclub-4d94a3a3e4a25d485ceeb7ccbe60f822:disqus I recall the angry, threatening Andy being a lot funnier.
1) Messianic plan to deal with overpopulation and environmental degradation
2) Base is a science lab in an extreme environment
3) Played by a currently fashionable actor from a major live-action TV series
Maybe Malory somehow conned her into thinking she'd have to forfeit all her wealth in some kind of bullshit penalty clause if she resigned? Cheryl's not very bright.
WHAT WHAT?
@avclub-2300d8171ca46be1ee5a72d2837c1b6d:disqus We saw the dialogue where Lana got that prediction, and it was Cheryl telling her.
@avclub-9349e20458f64c9bfb83b5221e145937:disqus You see I've always figured that Krieger can't actually be a Hitler clone. He has green eyes.
Chief Justice of the United States John Glover Richards Jnr? That would be awesome but I think he's a bit busy.
For like three seconds I was dead certain that they were going to spend the rest of the episode crammed into some Rush-themed jerry-rigged krieger-built submersible that had a secondary use as a storage area for his various attempts at populating the planet with an army of clone Kriegers. So, clearly Adam Reed is on…
Maybe it ends with Stan figuring out who Philip and Elizabeth are but nobody in the FBI believing him? "He's gone so far off the deep end since his partner died, he even thinks his next-door neighbours are Soviet spies! What a nutbar!"
And yes I know the FBI doesn't operate in Moscow. But, still.
