@TheAllusionist:disqus  It is a slow start, but it's quite fun trying to guess what's going to happen.

I recommend Iron Council but almost nobody agrees with me

Dear China

Ever since she offed the Italian PM, she's been a villain.  The question is, is she now -the- villain.

I really hope they set Brett up to be the next Barry.

Here's a weird continuity thing - in the Rampage episode, Archer seemed to not speak Spanish, resorting to Portuguese when talking to the Honduran janitors and apparently surprised that the two languages aren't mutually inteligible.  In this episode he seemed pretty good, if not fluent.  Has he just been studying up

It didn't seem out of character to me.  There is a weird corner of crossover between environmentalism and anti-immigrant nationalism.  Some environmentalists believe human population numbers need to drop, or at least stay static, and they don't always think about this on a global scale, sometimes they feel that way

The storyline with the kids felt a bit cliched, but I think it served a purpose in the overall episode - to show that there is fallout from Phil and Elizabeth's spy shit that has immediate and potentially harmful consequences for their kids.

My interpretation was that the higher-ups told her that they needed to be tested, but that she planned the details.

@avclub-b327ac90601ec5904ca8e539cba62638:disqus Heavenly Creatures might be his best film, but it's not really representative.  Watch Bad Taste - it's a lot of things, but heavy isn't one of them.

The majority of KGB agents stationed in foreign countries worked under diplomatic cover, so to say he's not a spy just because he's also a diplomat seems to be quite finickity.

Can we expect to see La Hire next week?

I don't think Claudia was implying women have it better in the USSR.  I think she was saying that anti-sexism laws don't work.  (The USSR had plenty of effective sounding rules against sexual discrimination, and, well, we've seen the result)

Well, I think he is a spy.  He's a member of the KGB, he's handling an agent.  How is that not spying?

Well, I presume 80s DC was full of guys who looked like that, and they weren't all spies, just mid-level diplomats.

"For starters, doesn't the FBI have their own motor pool, specifically because a normal garage would be too unsecure?"

Here's a question - if the USSR still exists, why is Turkmenistan its own country?  A-HAH!?!?!?

Cheryl's too young, maybe some other Tunt?

Fun fact: the LRDG was originally a 100% New Zealand force.

He still compares favourably to Mallory.  Woodhouse may have substance abuse problems but when he's straight he took reasonable efforts to take care of Archer.  Mallory blew him off even when sober.
