Party loyalty is really the only moral constant Malcolm possesses.  I presume it is based on a set of principles but he's long since subsumed any attachment to any particular policy program (poverty reduction, etc) to just party tribalism.  Still, I have no doubt he was genuinely outraged at Glenn's defection.
