I don't care how many years Scandal is on, it will NEVER achieve a flawless episode. It's laughable to insinuate it could ever reach the level of The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, or Mad Men - even for only one episode. I watch Scandal regularly, but it's purely mindless entertainment. The writing is mediocre at best.
