Jack Lemon played an Ad guy* in 'Days of Wine and Roses' and the center-point of his job is lining up prostitutes for the clients.  That was how things worked in pre-AIDS1962 business.  This movie reminded me a lot of that role.  Including how his choices directly determined that of his girlfriend/wife.  It's hard now…

I was studying Advertising in Art School, and decided to check out Putney Swope.   I can see how others would enjoy the outrageous-ness of it, but I felt a little insulted (obviously-if you've noticed my avatar).   If you have to ask why, then you wouldn't respect or accept my answer.

Caught this series on netflix last year and died laughing from beginning to end.  That said, i hope we never decide to do an American version.  It's already been done right.  All we can do is ruin the surprise for the lucky people who stumble upon it by accident (or after reading this post).
