I didn't expect to actually feel a tiny bit of sympathy for Joffrey for a moment there when Cersei orders him back to the Red Keep and he doesn't know what to do. I think while there's a few characters in the series/novels that are just vessels of unadulterated evil (Gregor Clegane, Ramsay Bolton, a lot of the Bloody

@avclub-2b88c1c9536414bc2c9e43d902eadcd0:disqus I just finished Clask of Kings recently. That Cersei line about tears and vaginas was taken directly from the book. She certainly was that soused in the book.

@avclub-d009e8b6ce98ad61a7b7a69cd1ad10d9:disqus I like the show. I hate Jessa. Which I think is the point, although she's slowly redeeming herself.

He's called the Knight of Flowers because the rose is his House's sigil, not because he's a pretty boy, although he definitely is. But also, Loras is more of a jouster, I think. Could be wrong.

My boyfriend and I both feel the same way. We know too many people like her. And yes, it's a compliment to the show.

I thought the whole point of the Jessa character is that she's a self-absorbed, contemptible bitch. I know Jessas, and I hate them.

Ah, OK. I remember all that now…guess I was momentarily confused.

Two things. One, it's not entirely clear they wouldn't have something of a claim to the throne if the legitimate heirs turn out not be be legitimate at all. In the books (and this is not a spoiler) bastards can sometimes inherit lands of the lords if there's no legitimate male heir. In any case, the idea of a

Also I know this is the experts section but I watch this show with my boyfriend who has never read the books. He pays attention to the shows we watch much better than I do and he's good at piecing things together usually but he didn't understand what was going on in Dragonstone with Melisandre and the new religion and

If for some reason spoilers arise from the answers to my question I'm going to disclose that I'm about a third of the way through Clash of Kings but am also a big cheater and have read ahead a bit. I'm slightly confused about how word spread about Jaime and Cersei and I can't be bothered to dig through my copy of the

The Morgan Freeman bit of the Maya Angelou sketch had me in stitches. To be honest, I've always found Maya Rudolph to be mostly just obnoxious, but I thought she killed it.

I don't think it was the host's fault despite my strong language earlier. I really just found every single sketch except the Nic Cage bit and Bill Hader's Eastwood to be unfunny to the point where I wasn't even clear what the punchlines were supposed to be. Zooey was competent enough; they didn't seem to give her much

I don't believe it. B+? This show was a stinker even by the standards of both SNL and Deschanel who is just really f*cking irritating in everything.

Just watched "The Conversion" again. Anyone notice how often someone is eating cake or pie in this episode? Some sort of easter-egg sight gag, I think.

Yes, really…birth control pill, not 100% effective. For one thing, it's not 100% effective even if you use it correctly, and for another thing, it is really easy to forget to take one or to get the timing wrong. I know this is completely off topic, but as birth control goes, the pill is really far from the best option

Wow, my reaction to this episode, and this show, is way off base from the vast majority, apparently.
