I'm willing to agree that Don is probably slightly better produced than the mass Bollywood masala flick and I do of course watch a lot of other mainstream Bollywood.

Yeah playing the chosen one in a fantasy epic is really a thankless job. Zero characterization.

I haven't seen the Don movies; I tend to avoid big, Bollywood masala movies because they're not my cup of tea. My favourite movies of hers are "Kaminey" and "Barfi". Actually, anything she does is pretty good. Joshua is right, she is jazzy and has charisma.

Edit: ok watched it and it really wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. I agree with most of Joshua's review and think that it might have helped to show PC being badass. Although they might have structured it so that she has time to learn fighting/action skills as the show progresses as part of her training.

I found the video game concept really terrible and annoying too. But Ren was charming. I just was irritated that Kring et al were doing nothing different. Oh lets have two characters be in Japan and involved in video games with no point because all Japanese people are gamers/into Comic books natch.

Kate is completely right that they sacrificed character and plot for tone and movement and that is exactly what will make this version of heroes suck. It was so disappointing because I somehow fooled myself into believing that this might be as good as season 1 of heroes. Which wasn't that long ago!

I would honestly go to town and buy all the books that you've read and loved and would read again and don't already own. There should be no room in any library for read once books. If this is not possible to do (i.e. you already own all your loved books) you have 1 and a half weeks to find new obsessions!
