Damn, I miss Avatar.
Damn, I miss Avatar.
Yup. I miss Mako's Iroh…
That's a fair point but I think the joy in a show is not knowing so much 'how a thing works' and more experiencing it through the characters. I liked Jinora saying "It's so beautiful" because it shows how she is reacting to a totally new place. The visuals were spectacular and they needed to be.
No argument on the Dragon-Phoenix. :)
Really? I feel like the spirit world (and everything else) was better developed in A:TLA. I think that is what I was trying to say up top. And I wasn't including the Beginnings episodes in my count because they don't seem like actual Korra to me. Lol
That's true and it highlights one of the problems with this show as a whole. Too many damn characters and not enough space to develop them properly. That's why it has felt so rushed…it has been!
Koh. The Monkey spirit guru guy one time who hushed Aang (and always vaguely reminded me of Hanuman…one of the Hindu gods). Obviously the past avatar spirits.
Nope.
I agree. I still liked having Iroh there and Wan Shi Tong is always cool.
It's overused and it had to happen when you consider it in terms of the narrative. Of course, Korra couldn't be allowed to close the South Pole portal — we wouldn't have a season finale!
Okay, saw it and liked it but not enough to give it an A.
It was, of course, the tea shop guys.
It's the same problem that Avatar had after (the real) Mako passed away — I think its the main reason Iroh had a reduced role in 'Fire.'
Arrgh haven't seen it yet and the reviews out already! And it was apparently a good one! Really looking forward to it now.
You are a fellow Pratchett reader! Hello!
I feel an immense amount of shame at this now but the last two years of high school coincided with my highest level of Harry Potter obsession (it was the three year summer) and I spent a ridiculous amount of time reading HP fanfiction. Obviously this meant I wasn't studying—a fact my parents weren't very pleased…
I actually really, for the first time, liked Fitz and Simmons in this episode. Not only were they not annoying, their scenes when Simmons thought she was going to die actually made me tear up a tiny bit. I thought the two actors did a good job and I was FINALLY okay with that casting choice.
Yes.
Your points are excellent but I think A:TLA was just more fun to watch. Korra isn't that much fun because the core gang basically just aren't friends as much as Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and then Zuko were.
I thought the infodump was worth the payoff of that line. Janet's delivery was pretty funny too.
