I laughed and shook my head when I first heard the premise of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. Then I forgot about it until they made a TV show of it, which seemed even more absurd. But that turned out pretty good. And Being Human's first three series were amazing too. Not just the writing, some extraordinary

I think Americans don't get that BBC runs differently to US networks. In the UK it's more like "Five series? Why did they make that many?". Like with Merlin, it seems more likely that the show's makers just wanted to do something else.

I'm watching series one right now. Before I watch the above video, are there spoilers?

I didn't spend any time on that – I just saw the letters and read out that phrase without thinking. I figured I must have heard it before and hence it was the actual meaning, as it came to me so quickly.

I was trying to work out what LAGWAFIS would stand for. Came up with "Let's all get wasted and fuck in the streets".

Problem is that tablets nowadays often stick the apostrophe in the word 'its' without you even noticing.

I always thought of this as an Austin Powers rip-off.

That would have been a version to see…
Actually it would probably still have been awful - it's not like the Coens have never made a bad comedy.

I guess it's pretty big, given that he was in with Heidi Fleiss all those years.

When the review mentioned Bill Murray I have to say I was somewhat surprised. Isn't he supposed to be really hard to get hold of? A comedy genius who chooses his parts carefully? He's got far higher projects on the go than a third Ghostbusters movie… But then he appears in this (apparently) awful vanity project for

I just started listening to Flop House after listening to every HDTGM. I appreciate the different pace and tone in the Flop House. It's more coherent, most working through the film from start to finish so you actually get a sense of what the film is like. But I like both shows.

One good post ruined by an extraneous apostrophe in its heading

Hence 'The Scissor Sisters', no?

By the way, I've got a friend who used to live in Compton in the West Midlands, UK. It's a pretty boring place, so I used to find it funny when he mentioned it to say "Straight out of mother-fucking Compton!".

Really? Oh dammit. Lugnut, my face is pretty red right now. This is worse than when it took me 20 years to work out Humpty Hump and Greg Jacobs were actually the same person!

Listen to it in full but miss out In My Life? Oh, that's probably not what you meant…

Regarding REM's So. Central Rain, I like the symmetry of NWA's Straight Out of Compton being set in South Central and also mentioning REM in the lyrics (even though they're not referencing the Athens band, and REM probably didn't mean the LA district.

You say your knowledge of the band is basic. Tina was always married to the drummer, Chris, so the above story seems unlikely (though I guess possible).

According to other posters, your assumption was correct!
