Well, Nog doesn't really age at the same rate as humans b/c he's an alien so I'm guessing Nog could be anywhere between 6 and 40.

Is there any point to commenting on this on a Friday afternoon. It seems like everyone posted 2 days ago and no one's revisiting these posts. Yeah, it seemed pretty clear that they were teenagers which would be too young to run a starship even if you were in Starfleet. I would have cast people who looked aorund 20-22

I'm calling a director/picture split. Maybe the older voters will be confused that a guy named Steve McQueen is up for best director and think it's the star from the '60s?

Because it's adapted for the screen by the guy who wrote the play. Thus, it's his original work.

I think the show's main goal is to produce interchangable episodes so that it will kill in syndication and you can tune in 10 years from now and enjoy it, and I think it will succeed wildly on that front.

I think the show usually has heart and that separates it from the pack, but this is definitely close to Parenthood territory or something

Oh, I'm still bitter about high school grades and I'm 30. Whenever I drive past my high school I think "my calculus teacher should have given me a B, damnit!" haha, I wasn't like a bookworm or whatever, but I feel like the teachers screwed me over

We called it "back-to-school" night and it was 15-20 minutes in every one of the 7 periods, so maybe it was 2 hours after all. I actually thought it was a universal thing until now

I think you're entirely right, and that's kind of a problem too because I think hype can become pretty heavy and a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes, we are in agreement about that. Oh i wasn't saying that all those deserved something this year or ever in particular, i just think all those guys are talented enough to do it

People didn't care that much about the Oscars in the 1929. It was held in a conference room in a hotel and took something like a half hour.

That very few young men in Hollywood are breaking through in terms of Oscar noms and Jonah Hill gets two. If you're going to be upset at someone hogging the awards (most ppl are directing their anger at J Law for being an awards hog), I'd suggest Jonah Hill as a better target

Since when is a movie ticket $18?

Well, I saw it before the hype and it became the front runner. In that kind of vaccum, it really was a movie that got me thinking and sparked more discussion than any other movie I saw this year, for what that's worth. In Wolf of Wall Street's defense, I didn't see that movie

I was very happy to thumbs up this lovably quirky post. Yes, movies should have an intermission, I agree

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the Oscars were started by Louis B Mayer to prevent stronger unionization. They mean a lot of different things to different people. For actors and filmmakers, it encourages goal-oriented film making (as in "I'll direct/act the shit out of this movie and maybe I'll get an Oscar" so it's

Everyone in the world has given George a lifetime pass, and it annoys the hell out of me. I once interviewed his dad and it took so much effort to keep my hatred of George from seeping into the interview.

I'm just annoyed that she's co-opted the nickname J-Law when there's a perfectly awesome thespian who could just as easily be called J-Law in Jude Law and I'm not like the president of his fan club or anything, but he's always been a solid actor, and I feel sorry for the guy losing out on this awesome nickname. But, I

I think the title of the post is misleading in that you seem to imply that Wolf and Hustle are the top two contenders for best picture, when it's likely Gravity vs 12 Years a Slave. Media outlets seem to be pitting Hustle and Wolf as the front runners in the last 24 hours since the noms have been announced when in

That's nothing compared to Jonah Hill getting two Oscar nominations. There are 8 million actors within the 20-32 range (Adam Beach, Ben Foster, Ben Whishaw, Arnie Hammer, Andrew Garfield, Emile Hirsch, Daniel Bruhl, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, Paul Dano off the top of my head) who are having a lot of trouble breaking into
