@avclub-d44516e88a548ff1b4d73b7f9ee80a0a:disqus mind explaining this z-axis reference?

Yeah, that's the only explanation for Spock banging Uhura if that didn't happen in the original

I feel that way about the Bond movies. Like "You Only Live Twice" except at the end of the movie

Haha, that's a good point. I think of it as a family-oriented resort without amenities. That does raise an issue: If this isn't a culturally relatable phenomenon for American audiences and it's filmed in Australia and everyone in the cast is Australian, why not set it in Australia? If I were Australian, this would

Yeah, a very weird and backwards marketing move, I agree

Being the lead of a show for someone who's three most famous roles have been supporting has gotta be a draw. Personally, I thought that Rachel Griffiths should've won the Oscar for Hillary and Jackie (what a shame it was wasted on Judi Dench playing an English queen for 10 minutes, something British actresses do on

Part of that is Carrie Raisler's review mischaracterizing it. The adults basically sit together during meals and gossip, they're not as wild as the kids. The high school aged kids are counselors but it is kind of a weird dynamic as it seems like the high schoolers are having too much free time for camp counselors.

I don't think Bill Hader and company seemed like they thought the sketch was bad

Anyone ever seen Greg Proops' stand-up? I thought it was hillarious and his impressions were pretty spot-on

How the F did they come up with the 9th lead for Glee as their inaugural celebrity guest? I could care less about Kevin McHale. He's not even the best Kevin McHale on TV. That would go to Kevin McHale's guest spot on Cheers

I liked that one where you only had 2 lines or they did the alphabet. 20% of the screentime of the last installment was shots of Carrey laughing, i don't know how you could get any more self-important than that. I'm sure Tyler would be an improvement.

Who did you bribe to get 74 likes for that?

Yeah, I thought the first two half-seasons back on the air were the best. Last season didn't have as grand of a focus. Bots and the bees was inconsequential, butterjunk effect, zapp dingbat, the six million dollar man, 31st century fox, all felt too sitcomy and didn't try to say anything big about the 31st Century.

Watching Zap and Kiff for a whole half hour wouldn't work. I might get bored 20 minutes in

I think Zack gives the episode too much credit for originality. Bender actually turning out to be a hero has happened a few times before: Law and Oracle, Theif of Baghead, many other spots. And I saw the blue flame more as a cheap gimmick than a superclever idea. I thought the first act was pretty hillarious and

Rachel was kidding about using Nina to scare him a date, I thought Garret Dillahunt's push power was underdeveloped in a way that weakened the episode, however. Do people struggle with losing self-control of their willpower or do they automatically just go to a happy place? Even if someone like Bill were experiencing

although i don't think Gary fooled anyone into thinking he was Nina's boyfriend, so what was the point of usin ghim?

Yeah, I was hoping for more introspection from Rosen, but I don't think there's any reason to assume that Rosen flipped to a point of comfort with his actions so easily

reading this comment a year later, how did you only get one like for that?

I think that was Zapp Dingbat which was a very substanceless epsiode, if I remember correctly.
