One of my favorite Tami lines in this episode: "You are not allowed to have sex!" So desperate, so frightened for her daughter, it's hilarious and poignant.

Great insight about Travis! I was also really relieved he didn't magically become a better dancer by the end of the episode. What we got was so much more meaningful because he felt he had failed his girlfriend.

Are the reviews officially in danger? (Sorry, I've been gone a few weeks.)

I went to Youtube and watched his not gonna dance sequence from High School Musical quite a bit after the episode finished.

Word. I just can't see how the writers handle writing for Bay and Ty when Bay and Emmett are right there!!! Side note — I love how Bay's connection to art and Emmett's collaboration with her is such a big part of their relationship. Color me twitter-patted, perhaps. As a fellow artist, I love having collaborators who

I desperately hope that her discovery leads to her getting over Ty; he is the worst, in that I feel like Bay gets a lot more out of ANY other pairing on the show. But also, Bay and Emmett forever.

Super weird episode, but that ending felt on-point, and Mary Beth's getting through to Travis was absolutely heartening. It was classic Switched at Birth — a gentle scene with a sweet conclusion, i.e., the two actually dancing without all that initial fuss.

I've only seen two episodes of Breaking Bad (it's INTENSE, and I need my life to calm down a little before diving back in), so I can't attest to his overall skillz, but I found RJ Mitte utterly charming here. The fact that he drives a Camaro somehow is just icing on the cake.

I am really hoping the "problem" student joins field hockey or something, and a bridge is built, because I don't know if I can handle what they're doing with the school storyline right now. The fact that everyone in that story seems to be a "problem" student POC, and the deaf students all seem predominantly white is

Here, here! This is the best examination of the problem I've read.

I was not sure where that issue of Astro City was going, and then Dame Progress showed up, and I ceased caring about structure.  I would devour an entire series of just Dame Progress fighting things with inventions.

Oh, most definitely.  Lying Cat is the king of beasts for saying someone was lying at precisely the right moment.

That series is amazing, and part of what it makes it work is Batman's constant undermining of the GCPD.  A noirish tale about trying to do good in a city that's overrun with corruption and social problems would be amazing.  But rather than honestly discuss the obstacles of defending such a place, I worry the stakes

"The best lie is the truth, right?"  Oh, man, love Gillen's work with Kid Loki!

Silver St. Cloud might battle it out with Lois Lane for my fave lady in comics.  Let us not speak of what happened when Kevin Smith got his hands on her.

You spoke my mind.  I really feel like Kirsten is functioning as a His Girl Friday, between the couples' shared "I'm not Daredevil" zingers, and her being a woman of action who doesn't need a dude to get stuff done.  I find her so refreshing, especially given that a lot of Daredevil's romances feel so heavy/he needs

Oh, man, that game against Canada was one of the most amazing matches I've ever seen!  I could not believe how fierce every single second of it was.  By way of contrast, I was at a girls' soccer tournament the weekend that the USWNT won the 1999 World Cup, and I remember running to the picnic pavillon each time there

Totally fair point on that toast.  I just have my crazy Bemmet goggles on.  I thought that scene where Bay asks him about cheating was heart-wrenching (because of her hurt, and inability to understand why cheating happens), and surprising, primarily because SaB did what it does best — set up a scenario where

I'd like to take a moment to state that Emmett's toast was maybe the most amazing, sweetest subtextual love declaration ever.

I'm fascinated, too, by Daphne's turn into activism, and her immediate playing of "the bigger picture supersedes personal relationships" card.  That whole scene with Bay really shows how far apart they are right now.  Remember when they sat together after the trial and felt like sisters?  Might be a while till we get
