Missed opportunity
I was really hoping the show would end, with cancellation of course, with Noah saying "I hate carnivals." And Peter replying "Yeah." Because that seems to be the highest the writing can reach. I'm surprised they even remember what Claire said all the way back in 2006. I mean, that was 4 years ago!…
They live!
Soany great callbacks, from the obvious, like the Naked Man, to the subtle, like those delicious wings they get every year. This episode was firing on all cylinders. My favorite
subtle moment was when Lily stated there's always a hotter chick Marshall, on the very edge of my widescreen, was shaking his head…
That Andy line really hit me because that's about as hard as I can hit too. This has been an eye opening half hour of television. Thank you for holding the mirror to my face Andy Bernard.
Maybe if Tom showed as much emotion to Wendy as he did DJ Roomba he wouldn't have to move out…oh who am I kidding! I love that little guy! I'd show you more emotion then my green card marriage wife!
I know I must have been a kid who was happy to play any game that was given to him because I don't think it's the worst game ever made. Sometimes I'd get frustrated after neck stretching my way out of a pit and not stopping the button quickly enough and falling back in, but I must have beaten that game dozens of times.
I think more likely we'll see Jacob can change form to a giant green bird. Maybe Jacob couldn't directly proceed when Smokey or the Others attacked, but he could try to warn them off as the Hurley bird. Actually that makes sense. If Jack hadn't been captured he couldn't have performed the surgery that saved Ben's…
Guys, guys! The answer to all the mysteries is knowledge! That's right, the treasure was knowledge… Yup…
It does seem LAX Jack has an inkling that something isn't right. Why was he bleeding by the way? Just a shaving nick or is there a connection between Island Jack? Well, obviously there's a connection but for discussion's sake.
Well I care…
I was very intrigued by the LAX Timeline characters. I should have caught the switch around right away with Rose reassuring Jack and no second vodka. But I was caught up in Rose telling Jack he can let go now. I think Jack is going to have to let go of a lot if he's to receive the catharsis he's looking…
Oh, the Conflict
I'm enjoying seeing where a lot of the characterization is going. All Chuck has ever wanted is to do something in his life that has meaning, and being a spy is it for him. And all Sarah has wanted is a normal life, which Chuck was able to provide. Sarah's losing him more and more. Chuck's innocence…
I know the feeling. When I worked at Gamestop I felt the pull of the obligation game every once in a while. Luckily that just caused me to get a collector's edition of Warcraft 3. But it hit hard this year with the Tim Schaffer effect. I thought 'this guy makes gamer's games, he's funny, I didn't have the cash to…
I was under the impression that the 'her' Harper is referring to is Ben's mother. Ben even keeps a portrait of her in his home which you can catch on a few occasions and seems terribly into Juliet because of the resembelance. While Ben does have deep seated daddy issues his mother issues may even be more…
@Dowd I just realized that according to Desmond's flashes that Claire and her baby would be getting on a helicopter and leaving the island, leading Charlie to sacrife himself for them. But that never happened. Could the flash have been planted by Smokie/Esau or is this what you're saying about Desmond flashing between…
I appreciated the post, even two times, because it clarifies some of the ideas that have been forming in my head. I've had the idea that the 'game' between Jacob and Esau were to prove each other's philosphy correct. Jacob thinks mankind can grow and change, while Esau believes mankind can only fight, corrupt, and…
Of course that final image we keep hearing about may be someone's eye closing, thus bringing us full circle.
Much of the stuff we consider highbrow like Shakespeare and, as you mentioned, Dickens would have been considered lowbrow and made for the groundlings in the day. So I'll continue to enjoy what people consider low art that reaches for something more.
With the way Des said to Penny that he would never leave her again, coupled with the way the writers like to pull the rug out from under the characters, my theory is that if the timeline has changed, and I fully expect it has, that Des could be one of the only ones who remember the previous timeline, though I've been…
"Delicious!"
I think my friend's boyfriend, who is actually in a band, put it best when he said he could do the whole band thing with people he actually wants to hang out with.
