I say the same about Wall-E and it's great first forty minutes.

N.Y.Boo

Goofy is the horrible byproduct of someone trying cross the DNA of a dog and Ernest P. Worrell.
He's not a dog, but he's not a human.

Incredibles, Toy Story 3, Up/Ratatouille (tie)

It'd just be a rehash.
The only things it could do would be have Bob actually have an affair and get kicked out (yawn) and teen drama involving Violet.
Meh.

It's so weird that Disney and Pixar seemed to swap types of films last year.
Wreck-It-Ralph was the kind of high concept with emotional depth movie Pixar made it's name with and Brave is very Disney, albeit with much more to say than most Disney except Lion King.

So…people who have no friends like Wall-E more?

It's Rashomon with monsters!

Nope I got your back. The opening 40 of Wall-E is great, the rest was just ok.

@avclub-677a5147e751ae36d431ec35b8ee58aa:disqus , it doesn't quite, but the opening does let the rest of the film breath and for it to do whatever it wants without it having to grind to a halt and explain why Carl is how he is.
It also neatly tweaks the film 'curmudgeon we slowly grow to understand' cliche, but showing

Yeah, I'm surprised there's apparently been a slight backlash on Incredibles.

'dialogue is a crutch for visual media'.

Masterpieces: Ratatouille, Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Toy Story 2 and 3, Up.

I only liked the first act of Wall-E. Once they ended up on that space version of the Love Boat it all went downhill.

I'm the official 'disliked Wall-E' guy here. I found it overrated, trite and more than a little obnoxious with it's preachiness, mainly because it's message was so overt.

Brave's fine.
It's less epic and more a personal family story than some others. I'd really only rank it slightly below their absolute best.It was a fairytale with modern characterization in it's lead and I don't think anyone should call it awful.

The prologue from Up is so good it'd have won best animated feature if that was all it is.
Up works on multiple levels, like all the best Pixar films do. It is fun, adventurous etc and still deals with some pretty deep and mature themes at the same time. It's why Brave underwhelmed me honestly. It was good, but so much

Said it above, but Cold Ethel by Alice Cooper.

@avclub-230e46d19fe78a6c8dc715659a7188d7:disqus , Mel Gibson does.

Long as it's not Stairway. That should be banned from funerals.
