I once did not see Mastodon when they were touring Blood Mountain (their best by a mile imo) and opening for SLAYER!!! but then one of them hurt their wrist and they didn't play, leaving the stage for Amon Amarth who I don't care about. Now I don't really feel the need to see them anymore because I am not such a fan

I don't even know the comedian (if I have the correct one) but going through a number of well known first names with three letters that together with another letter make up a god's name (a four-letter-god so to speak) made it a short enough endeavour. (I think?)

Thanks four your recommendations .. don't know any of the bands but Kromosom and Column of Heaven.
I'd say Pure Disgust (presented on AVC a couple of days ago) and Stuck Pig, if oldschool HC is something for you. If powerviolence: Leeds outfit Mob Rules really has the Infest/No Comment/Neanderthal thing down like I

Nails ft. DJ, thanks for that mindbending idea, but sure…
The Body worked with Haxan Cloak - that's something appreciable, although I'd find a Full of Hell/a more grindcore-y outfit with Haxan Cloak more interesting.

Clean forgot: Hail music reviews on AVC! Even better if Metal/HC/Punk/Experimental stuff reviews!

I have yet to hear the full album, but those two new ‚experimental‘ tracks with clean singing are the hugest turn off to do that.
And: Nu Metal ‚taboo in underground circles'? To my mind it is quite universally reviled. (If we're talking Limp B, Korn and their ilk, I'll always find warm words for White Pony era

Aaaaaargh! This is great - just as it should be, if it's like that, bring on the NWODCHC!

Quintessencial NIN, Sepultura, Bowie tracks.

This description sounds great, will check out. Awesome band name.

What are your thoughts so far? Got it for my sister for Christmas, to be then put off by his recent tweets.

Hmmmm. Just as I did go to shows whenever I could from 14-35 and now just don't as much/practically don't because small kids/work/place I live right now I will again as soon as kids are older/we're in another place. I love going to shows since always and it is from that perspective that I am impressed by your story.

Some listening:
German 80-ies Punk classic Ausflug mit Franziska by Razzia - still a blast; dark, aggressive, yet always melodic, great singer.
Right now listening to the new Krallice which decidedly has its moments, the guitars sound incredibly close, upfront at times.
As noted below/above: the amazing Die Kreuzen.

PiL + Die Kreuzen. That is an insanely good line-up.

Despite competition that couldn't be stronger in places, Either/Or mostly comes out as my favourite Elliott Smith album.
I'm probably getting this is what I mean.

Thanks for the head's up - I found it on Discogs/rateyourmusic et al easily (they say it's 8 discs…), but not for sale, lots of single songs on Youtube, though.

Sprained Ankle (especially the song, but the whole album) is great great songwriting (and -performing). Obvious talent. Looking forward to more releases!
Just looked at upcoming tour dates, won't be able to go to any. Damn.

I am actually impressed that you found it that way.
Got it because of undying Born Against reverence/love, but it's a good one.

That is indeed cool! Never, sadly, saw Hot Snakes, but The Nightmarchers in a small club, which was awesome, because Reis and the band put everything in it proving beyond any doubt that he does that because he loves it. Couple years later I saw a RFTC reunion show. Same tightness, exuberance, showmanship in a big

Paint It Black, 'Paradise', and Wrangler Brutes, 'Zulu', realizing how old these are already. Still good.

Their recorded stuff is usually great to massive, I like 'The State of the Art is on Fire' and 'Scream, Dracula, Scream' best, but seeing them, and John Reis in any band, for that matter, live is the thing.
