Season 2 of Angel is a massive step up from the first. Which isn't to say that the first is hateful, just that over the course of the second the creative team get a much better handle on what it is they're doing and where they want to take it. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

So was that Royal Flash? What did you think? And have you read The Prisoner of Zenda?

I thought that if I said bank holiday the Americans might think I worked at a bank.

I've never seen any of Fringe and my entire knowledge of it is that it's about five seasons long and involves [redacted just in case it's a spoiler rather than a core concept]. Should I be correcting that, and if so is it something I should be correcting before or after catching up with Breaking Bad from half way

As a newbie (sort of, I've seen a few out of sequence eps before), I'm going to add that I'm very grateful for these reviews, which convinced me to pick up from my previous nadir-of-season-one abandonment. I'm really enjoying both the series and the reviews.

Pleased to see the love for KOTOR.

Well it's a statutory holiday here, so posting this is still part of my weekend.

Well I've spent today playing KOTOR. For which I largely have you to thank for bringing it up in a chat about Dragon Age.

Heh. Just as some of you were saying last week.

I dunno. We'd have to refer back to Frank Darabont's original drafts.

I am really enjoying the way that @avclub-e38b312d4672f93a0ad9c12899564c20:disqus  has captured John Sheridan dialogue style.

No, you're not quite carrying the tone of whiny entitlement over him not enjoying a film you were looking forward to.

Up to 2005 the standard licencing hours were up to 11pm for pubs (and I think also cafes and restaurants) and to 2am for nightclubs. Special applications could be made to extend the licence for particular occasions.

So six and a half hours (assuming chucking out time of 11.30) to drink twelve pints.

To each their own. I just go for the animal sacrifice.
