Smokey, you been eating corn?
Smokey, you been eating corn?
That's my favorite thing I've learned all week.
Really? I could name 30 examples of albums I was burnt on as a teenager for that reason, but I actually think "Resident Alien" was a good album straight through.
Seriously, this news fucking sucks.
"Don't wake my friend. He's Suedehead tired."
Also, my vote goes to Bowie because seriously fuck Morrissey.
@avclub-32a2e71c97df5281f1324db72c73a59a:disqus I loved that so much.
So, you might want to check out the band Shone. They just put an album out this week called Heat Thing. While obviously not as good as Modest Mouse, they're definitely influenced, and it's a decent placeholder until (if) MM makes another album.

Yeah, I really loved that movie. I didn't even realize how much I did until I realized it had stuck with me even a week or so later.
I guess the other reason I won't defend #1 is because I honestly don't give a shit. I like a lot of bands with unlikable members (Oasis, for example). The difference between them and most people's favorite bands/band members isn't the fact that they're assholes, it's just that they're very open about being assholes.
I'm very sorry for bringing back a past trauma. And yes, they were absolute garbage. They've always been my go-to band for "emo-music-done-terribly-wrong".
Exactly. I actually hadn't listened to them in a long time, but the news of their reuniting got me to listen to them again, and the albums hold up remarkably well.
Hey, as I said on the "Parachutes" write-up on AV Club last week, a band who can make an album as good as "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" shouldn't even need defending.
Also known as "The Weezer Rule" around these parts.
I've got your back. They get a bad rap because of two things: 1. The "emo" tag 2. Pete Wentz is a massive tw*t. While I can't defend #2, I can defend #1. While they certainly embraced the emo label early on, what it comes down to is that they were a pop band. And in that regards, they were a goddamn good one.…
You know there currently a new season of that on right now, right?
I love you for that last paragraph.
I know. It's amazing to me that so many people, most of all Punisher fans, seem to dislike it. It's such a fun movie, and Stevenson was a great Frank Castle.
I genuinely did like that movie. I'd even throw "Dredd" onto this list.
