Oh man, watching the show as it was originally broadcast that Z - countdown was incredibly tense!

*not afraid to admit that I sat and cried after reading Rowan's review*

Okay - I got lost, are we comparing season cliffhangers (with an added sprinkling of the-show-might-be-cancelled) or are we talking groovy space ship moments?

So a bit like the Power Rangers then?

It's also one of the longest Danes Anomalies ie a scene in Gilmore Girls, featuring at least two men talking about anything other than Emily, Lorelai or Rory Gilmore.

The worst thing about AV Club is that you can only click 'like' once…

In the US I suspect Rennie Mackintosh's work is often mistaken for that of Frank Lloyd Wright.  There are astonishing similarities but - back then, at the end of the 1800s and the start of the 1900s - I'm not sure how much they could possibly have known about each others work.

Back in '96, when this episode first aired in the UK, I didn't have access to the internet at home or at work - I barely even knew it existed.  I was so blown over by this crushing cliffhanger ending to the single best season of television I had ever seen, however, that I sought out a buddy in the IT Dept. at work

I'll have time to do all the things I'm actually supposed to be doing?  Gah!

Getting to the end of this - marvelous - review and finding out that it might be the last one is as traumatic as watching Z'ha'dum was, way back whenever it first aired in the UK.  So if this is theatre and you wanted to create feelings of awe, confusion and despair - mirroring the emotions we originally experienced

"…cartoon villains and also Republicans"

That's a very good point - though I'm not 100% sure whether there really is a bra or not.  The way Jess glances back and then rolls his eyes could be a sort of 'made you look' 'duh' moment - if that makes sense?

Just to be clear - I don't 'like' the fact that you're sobbing uncontrollably but I'm right there with you.

The second 2/3rds of the season really aren't that bad.  It's not an absolute return to form but it's watchable.

When I was a child I loved playing with my dolls and I always really wanted a proper dolls house but I also loved playing with my brother's train set, scalextric & meccano.  So I decided, as a child, that if I ever had a daughter she would have a dolls house AND a train set!

Sorry - I was too naffed off to explain properly, it's downthread  @avclub-bbd1d1285778b99af0d511a50652f141:disqus if you've not seen it yet.  Apparently we're a 'faction'.

I've got to stand up for Lorelai here - she doesn't want to even acknowledge the note Dwight has left taped to the front of the house, it's Rory that insists on going inside - 'to water the african violets'.

I was sorry Luke missed that whole exchange, he'd've really enjoyed it.

Good questions but I'd add a third - what were the last words of the series going to be?

But clearly all we want are 'gushing' reviews…. !  *still smarting about that podcast insult*
