has anyone seen the preview to tonight's episode? just watched it, and am looking forward to the half-hour, though i'm curious as to what other folks think.

I actually enjoy Veep (the first season, at least, haven't gotten around to Season 2 yet), but I don't actually find anything new or different about it. Loki1001's comments sums up my thoughts on it perfectly.
I actually thought the Unbreakable connection was neat, particularly with how he realizes that, if they were "destined" to meet like superheroes, then there would need to be a villain. I think that's the point Sam-L makes to Bruce at some point in the film.
To be honest, it'd be great if they could naturally continue in such a way that isn't blatantly "forced", though I think it'll be tough to do so. The only thing I don't want is a "Lost" kind of scenario, where the show lost its way until the writers figured it was too late for a long-term thing, only to end up saying…
I don't think he's saying that Season 4 is better, and I wouldn't agree with that either. But I agree with the idea that if the show started going downhill (in terms of character development), it was last season. "Remedial Chaos Theory" was perfect for that, and is in my top 3, but as a unit the season really let go…
Ah true. Though, this scene didn't bug me all that much. A couple of local theatres in Vancouver play random, previously-released movies from time to time, so the idea of them playing the Phantom Menace in 2008 isn't all that crazy to me.
My response to this episode: yes!
