Ha, no. Just a little hiccup with our content management system.

True, there was a lot of archetype-setting on this season, too. Other scheming, semi-villainous gay men and/or women: Stephen from Seattle (not out on the show, but we all knew what was going on there), Genesis from Boston, Dan from Miami. Dan was the worst, actually.

Yeah, it's a label that was applied retroactively to distinguish this season from the subsequent ones. It's what the DVD is called, so I'm sticking with it.

I don't know. I think that's another case of accent-wrangling, since Nielsen is Danish. She's otherwise a much better actress so it's less of a problem in her case.

Whoops. You're right. My math was a little off. I'll make the correction.

It's Boo-buh-nesh-wahr. Rhymes with "rube a mesh car."

Hey! SPOILER ALERT!

I've looked for legit sources online and come up empty, but this YouTube account has them posted…for now anyway: http://www.youtube.com/user…

My point isn't that he's wrong (in fact I say that he's technically right) it's that there's little, if any, to explain anything about the island to viewers—to explain its geography, climate, topography, history, etc. And that, moreover, it doesn't really matter; it could be any "exotic" place, as far as the producers

Woah, Kristen Wiig was on Joe Schmo? MIND BLOWN.

My relationship to Survivor is certainly more complex and not wrapped in as much fuzzy nostalgia as my relationship to the early years of The Real World. But don't get me wrong, I was a fan. And you're right, the relative naivete of the cast, compared to now, is very interesting. That's why Richard is so great/evil:

Ha, very true about the daughter. That's one fresh-faced heroin addict! Maybe she's been off the crank for a while?

I understand that he was referring to the vote, I just objected to the fact that he was loudly getting into a fight with someone while carrying a coffin at a funeral. Who does that? There's just an unnecessary amount of DRAMA to every single interaction on the show. It's not so much the way the characters act that I

DING-DING-DING! We have a winner!

Ha, I stand corrected.

OK, I am hopelessly late in seeing this and there's probably little point in commenting, but I'm going to anyway because I really disagree with this interpretation. I see "Contagion" as a powerful endorsement of the positive role that government plays in people's lives, as a story about the triumph of science and

Seriously, Margaret. You must be PMSing or something.

Agreed. That was awesome.

Indeed.
