The season 6 finale is one of those episodes that I thought was just okay when I was first watching it but now in retrospect it's easily top 5 of the entire series for me.

I totally agree. Exploring how their mental states are parallel in the present allows some fascinating nuance to the portrayal of the effects of abuse, which can sometimes be too cliche and surface-level. And Bill's poor communication skills place such limits on his ability to describe what he's feeling, but since he…
What I loved about that line was that it WAS funny, but there were layers there beyond the humor: it was scary, since he seems like a barely-suppressed ball of rage; and it was sad, because even if he has distorted notions of masculinity it's nevertheless a pretty sympathetic problem. It's almost like the show wanted…
I think @rawbun:disqus's point was that Mad Men and (I assume - haven't seen it) The Sopranos have clearly recognizable character arcs and thematic arcs even if they don't really do season-long plot arcs. So far it's been a bit hard to identify character and thematic arcs on Masters of Sex other than perhaps the…
I'm surprised to hear that opinion. I found him pretty bland and irritating.
Among "top-tier" rock acts, the only band that might outdo The Who for overall technical ability is Led Zeppelin (because Townshend can't quite compete with Page) but Daltrey might be the best frontman of the lot.
No, you actually were misgendering her. Deliberate or not, using gender pronouns that she has asked not to be referred to by is misgendering. Her gender may be irrelevant to your valuation of her as a human being, but it is nevertheless still a part of who she is. Misgendering amounts to a bigoted slur, and regardless…
I'm 21, and Chloe Bennett is a month younger than me. It's been so weird adjusting to having Hollywood bombshells younger than me for the first time. The weirdest was when I realized I'm older than Kate Upton.
When Joss was shopping around a Buffy animated series, he was told the network wouldn't do it unless they gave her a male co-lead. So, no, "we need a female lead" is not the lesson networks took away from Buffy.
Exactly what I've been thinking. With early Dollhouse we were getting feedback on our complaints indicating that they heard us, understood the flaws, and were in the process of working them out. We've had no such indication from anyone involved in SHIELD. There's no indication that the show has ambitions to be…
Please, please, please stop misgendering Chelsea Manning. Regardless of how you feel about what she did, it's not okay.
[MAD MEN SPOILERS]
True. Although Simmons actually looks more like Keira Knightley to me than Emma Watson.
Seriously? We're complaining about Dana in an episode where she didn't even appear?

Butch Count-sidy and the Sumdance Kid.
I've seen a lot of people complaining about this season, but honestly, this show just makes me so giddy. Even if its best days are long behind it, I would be completely happy to tune in week after week to see this show continue to perform at this level.
The only one that didn't really work for me was ERIC. Yet another Tom storyline that didn't really work and felt like the show taking time away from stuff we'd rather be watching.
Also, the Morrisey stuff just had me dying. It was so out-of-left-field but still worked for the character in the kind of balance that only this show can make work.
I think Jamm is hilarious. He's so irrationally and unnecessarily dickish that he feels like a cartoon character, and I think Jon Glaser does a great job with the character.
